Through the generosity of our individual and foundation donors, choir scholarships are available for members of the St. Brigid School Honor Choir. Choir scholarships fall into the following categories:
Present members:
Present choir members can now apply even if they have been in the choir for less than a year. Qualifications include attendance, especially events at the cathedral, and faithfulness to the choir. Scholarships are based either on merit only or on merit and need. The need-based scholarships tend to be higher in amount than the merit only scholarships.
Incoming students:
In order to attract talent to the school, up to five $3,000 scholarships are awarded to incoming 3rd through 8th students (unchanged voices) who pass an audition and can commit to being faithful and dependable members of the choir. The scholarship is renewable on an annual basis, as long as the student remains faithful to the choir.
Scholarships are awarded in the form of tuition credits.
If interested in applying for a choir scholarship, present choir members should fill out the application form on this page and return it to the school office.
If interested in applying as an incoming student, you should schedule an audition with Dr. Christoph Tietze.
Scholarships for instrument or voice lessons:
Scholarships are also available for private instrument or voice instruction. If your student continues on an instrument (or in voice), or if he/she is starting a new instrument (or voice), he/she needs the instrument (or voice) teacher’s recommendation. Please use the form “scholarship-application-instruments”.
